Built by Budd in 1947 (lot 2198) as New York Central 44 seat diner #448..to Penn Central #4548 in 1968...sold to High Iron Company 1969...renumbered back to #448, lettered American Freedom Train and used on test runs with 4-8-4 #1 but never used on the AFT. Stored in New Orleans (dates?) then sold to private ownership in 2008.
